Capital of Kazakhstan flooded after heavy rain
Several streets were flooded as a result of heavy rain in the capital of Kazakhstan, the city of Nur-Sultan. This was announced on June 27 by the press service of the city administration. Heavy rain passed in Nur-Sultan on the night of June 27, several streets flooded with water. 140 units of special equipment were involved in the aftermath of the emergency, more than 20 thousand cubic meters of rainwater were pumped out of the city streets overnight. It is noted that Imanova Street suffered the most, on which work is underway to lay storm sewers, which are planned to be completed in 2021. At the same time, work is underway to clear collectors on a number of other streets of the city. The press service of the city administration explained that after the completion of all construction and reconstruction work at the treatment facilities, the probability of flooding of the streets will be almost completely excluded. Earlier, the news agency reported a flood in southern Kazakhstan, as a result of which more than $9.5 million in damage was caused to agriculture.
