The United States approved the sale of 105 aircraft to Japan F-35
The deal to sell Japan 105 fifth-generation fighters F-35 American production and the necessary equipment for them totaling $23.11 billion was approved by the US authorities. This was announced on July 10 by the US Office of Defense Cooperation and Security of the Ministry of Defense. The proposed sale will contribute to the goals of US foreign policy and national security, increasing the security of the main ally, which is a force to ensure political stability and economic progress in the Asia-Pacific region, the report said. It also indicates that Japan's assistance in developing and maintaining a powerful and effective self-defense potential is vital to US national interests. At the same time, the US State Department sent a notification to the country's Congress about its adoption of this decision and now US congressmen have 30 days to study and approve or block this deal. Recall that the Office of Defense Cooperation and Security of the US Department of Defense is responsible for the supply of American military equipment and weapons abroad under intergovernmental agreements.
