Georgia continues strengthening democracy - Speaker of Parliament Talakvadze
The visit of the delegation of the Parliament of Georgia to the USA began on February 6. The purpose of the visit is to inform American legislators about the plans and goals of the Georgian leadership, the press service of the Parliament reports. The delegation is headed by the Chairman of the Georgian Parliament Archil Talakvadze. Also in the United States went his deputy Kaha Kuchawa and the head of the cabinet of the President of Parliament Nikoloz Samaharadze. We will convince our colleagues that Georgia continues to strengthen democracy, and Georgia will never retreat from its course to strengthen democracy, the press service reports Talakwadze. According to the news agency, in January a number of representatives of the US Congress in their letters to the Prime Minister of Georgia Georgy Gaharia critically spoke about how the Georgian authorities run the country. U.S. lawmakers have expressed doubt that Tbilisi continues to follow a democratic course. Representatives of the leadership of Georgia stated that the congressmen drew conclusions due to lack of objective data. Two delegations were sent to the United States for direct dialogue.
