Gryzlov spoke about the discussion of the law on the special status of Donbass

The political subgroup began a detailed discussion of the law "On a special order of local self-government in certain regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions." According to the correspondent of the news agency on June 25, this was stated by the plenipotentiary of Russia in the Contact Group for the Settlement of the Situation in Ukraine Boris Gryzlov. Unfortunately, the proposals of Donbass on the draft law on special status, received a month earlier, are not taken into account by Ukrainian representatives. Nevertheless, the dialogue between Kiev and Donbass began, and work on amendments to the law should continue in accordance with the letter and spirit of the Minsk agreements, Gryzlov said. He recalled that the main task provided for by the Minsk agreements to give the special status of Donbass a permanent character, as well as to consolidate it in the constitution of Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities in April 2014 launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the coup in Ukraine in February 2014.
