Zelensky signed a law regarding the financing of the road industry
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the Law on Amending the Budget Code of Ukraine No. 677-ІH, adopted by the Ukrainian parliament on June 4, 2020, the press service of the Ukrainian leader reports on June 28. This law, according to the source, will allow the regional state administrations of Ukraine this year to attract additional funding in the form of credit funds for the repair of roads of local importance. According to the document, 90% of the total amount of subventions will be distributed among local budgets (except for the budget of the Ukrainian capital), depending on the length of local roads in the corresponding administrative-territorial unit. These funds can be allocated for the construction, reconstruction, repair and maintenance of streets and roads of communal property in settlements in the amount of no more than 20% of the volume of such a subvention approved by the law on the State Budget of Ukraine for the corresponding local budget, the press service of Zelensky reports. Credit funds can also be used to repay and service local debt on local domestic and external borrowings, which were raised for the construction, repair of local public roads and communal property.
