In Poland, Ukrainian citizens detained at an underground cigarette factory
In Poland, six Ukrainian citizens suspected of participating in the illegal production of cigarettes were detained. This was reported on August 4 by Polish Radio. Journalists note that one of the illegal industries was located in the Pyasechinsky district of the Masovian Voivodeship. Police found a production line, seized machines, about 1 million finished cigarettes, more than a ton of tobacco and semi-finished products, the report said. The second cigarette factory was discovered in one of the warehouses in Pultu County, journalists said. In total, during the operation, the police detained eight people, six of whom turned out to be citizens of Ukraine, said the representative of the state prosecutor's office, Eva Bialik. The detainees were charged with participating in an organized criminal group engaged in the illegal manufacture of tobacco products, the illegal release of goods with a fake trademark, as well as tax offenses, she said. According to a representative of the Polish prosecutor's office, during the work of the factory they could produce about 6 million cigarettes, which were sold in Poland under the guise of cigarettes of two well-known brands. The liquidated plant was professionally organized to ensure maximum production efficiency. In addition, social facilities for Ukrainian citizens living on its territory were organized at the plant, Bialik added. According to the news agency, earlier the Estonian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the need to punish labor migrants from Ukraine who violated the quarantine restrictions in force in the country.
