Tehran will extend restrictions on COVID-19 for another week
On August 20, Alireza Zali, head of staff for managing operations against coronavirus infection in Tehran, announced that virus-related restrictions would be extended for another week. This was reported by the Iranian agency IRNA. He said that over the past 24 hours, 515 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified. Zali said that the state of infection in Tehran has not yet undergone significant changes, and therefore Tehran is in the red zone. Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, said 153 Iranians died of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), bringing the total death toll to 20,125.
