Although the report shows that the spread of the infection is most severe in seven countries in Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Malta, it also states that a number of other countries may have a risk of transmitting the infection to older people over 65 years of age. These countries are Austria, Denmark, Estonia, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and the UK.
